    I have read in one web review, that the table quite easily scratches. Hope that's not the case. Looks sturdy. Am deciding between this and Outwell Kamloops one. Nice review of all the Dometic Go equipment together 🙂

      It does scratch quite easily. It's just wood after all. Perhaps a polyurethane coating would help?

    Thanks for a great review. I am trying to decide between this and the drop bar version. Local bike store has the drop bar so I tried that. Can’t find the flat bar anyplace close to me. I live near the beach so roads and trails are mostly flat so not much climbing. There is wind and beach traffic in the summer. Trails are paved or packed gravel or packed sand. Would you recommend the flat bars over the drop bar?

    • @MichaelLargent
      @MichaelLargent 3 місяці тому

      I would think about it this way. Speed and power, drop bar. Comfort and agility? Flat bar.

    • @rogercurtis7009
      @rogercurtis7009 3 місяці тому

      That makes sense. I wish I could compare side by side. I was thinking drops for speed and fun. Drops seemed a little iffy a slower speeds. A lot of folks are riding flat bars around here. I do like hydraulic brakes.

    It's a shame you didn't show how the legs are extending in this table. They have 3 fixed heights but I can't see any "micro" adjustments and thus on an uneven surface such as grass it's going to be a problem - such as small thing already handled by many other brands so am surprised Dometic didn't do anything about it and force users to look for stuff to put under legs to level or make this table more stable. Presumably it's not a problem at home but hey isn't this table designed for camping?

    • @MichaelLargent
      @MichaelLargent 3 місяці тому

      I will double check but I'm 90 percent sure the lower legs do include a micro adjustment. I don't recall ever having any stability issues and used it extensively. I'll verify this when I can.

    The diamond fly sucks donkey @ss during a downpour. Spend the extra few dollars and get the hex fly. It creates a proper roof over your hammock, no matter which size it is. I have the hex fly with a Safari XXL, and my friend has an expedition (the small one) with the diamond fly. Last year he complained of wet spots all over his sleeping bag after a storm during our trip. I had the best sleep in years that night. Everything was bone dry, including my gear stowed beneath me. You can cook under it too. Just get the hex fly.

    I recently got this bag. I’m working on hiking lighter. One thing I’ve noticed is that there are no loops for strapping a wet tent to the outside of the bag. I suppose I could put it in the two sleeves on the back. Any suggestions?

    • @MichaelLargent
      @MichaelLargent 4 місяці тому

      Hi. Yes this is common. I think manufacturers avoid this as it used to result in a lot of torn tents from scraping brush and such. However, many packs have straps connected to the bottom of them for this purpose already. What pack are you using? Some packs allow a went tent to be rolled up and tucked under the lid also. Personally, I just shove the went parts into a dry bag and shove it in my pack. 🤣

    Michael, Thanks for taking the time to show the frame in situ. Would you say that water bottle holders on the harness would work on the Shadow light? or would they sway about and become an annoying distraction? Go steady and keep safe out there.

    Also worth noting, the Landyachtz website where I picked up this deck notes the deck-scrub as a feature rather than a bug. From the site: “The graphic is see through, reveling veneers dyed in red, yellow and blue creating a 5 color fade. This technique guarantees that every deck is completely one of a kind. One of our favorite aspects of the ride is bouncing it off the ground while carving. As the graphic scrapes away, it reveals more colors, creating an ever-changing look.”
